The first edition of the Geometry Space Surrey workshop will take place this spring!

It is the first event of its kind, at the intersection of symplectic geometry and astrodynamics. Symplectic geometry has started producing more and more applications to astrodynamics and space mission design in the last two decades. 

The goal of the event is to gather the two communities for three days, hold keynotes, research talks, and a poster session on topics at the interface of symplectic geometry, astrodynamics, and wider geometric techniques, in order to promote more collaboration between the two fields.

Format of the event:

• 3-days (June 8-10 2026) + optional visit of the SSTL (Surrey Satellite Technology Limited) facilities on the morning of June 11.

• In-person.

• Lunch and coffee breaks included. 

• Social dinner in Guildford on Tuesday June 9.

• Research talks are 30 min (25 min + questions). Posters must be in A1 format. To present a research talk or a poster, submit an abstract before April 14th.
