Science and Exploration Bilateral Programme: Call 2

Deadline: Wednesday, 31st January 2024

Proposals are invited for participation in bilateral space science and exploration (SS&E) missions, which are already in an advanced state of discussion, but requiring funding during the current Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR) period to end March 2025. For collaborations where the UK is a junior partner, the mission status should be either selected, going through the selection process, or being prepared for an imminent call, and could include instrument development and/or software engineering. 

The total budget available for the Call will not exceed £1M in 2024/25. Funds awarded in FY24/25 need to be spent before the end of 31st March 2025.

Space For A Wasteless Food Supply Chain

Deadline: Thursday, 1st February 2024

This opportunity provides funding to European teams who would like to develop a service related to halving waste through the food supply chain. Funding will be provided by the European Space Agency (ESA) for 6-month projects called ‘Kick-Starts’, which can lead to larger scale Demonstration Projects and Feasibility Studies. Kick-Starts are 75% funded by ESA up to a maximum of €60K per contract. Proposed services must use satellite data or space-based technologies. SME Programme from Aerospace Technology Institute

Deadline: Wednesday, 21st February 2024

This competitive funding programme is designed to maximise benefits to SMEs and to support and encourage industrial investment into the aerospace sector and its supply chain, through the funding of innovative and high-impact projects.

The SME Programme is coordinated and managed by:

  • Department for Business and Trade

  • Innovate UK

  • Aerospace Technology Institute

Solar and Planetary Small Awards 2024

Deadline: Tuesday 12 March 2024

Apply for funding to support theory, including modelling, simulation and related software development, observation, experiment and new technology research, relevant to all aspects of solar system science.

You must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funding. This funding covers up to three years of research activity starting from 1 April 2025.

Eureka collaborative R&D: Eurostars 3 Call 6

Deadline: Thursday, 14th March 2024

Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £2.5 million to fund collaborative research and development (CR&D) projects focused on industrial research. The aim of this competition is for international collaboration on R&D projects that create innovative products, processes, or services for commercialisation.

This competition is open in theme and will fund projects from all sectors which meet eligibility criteria. Your project must have high market potential and develop one or more of the following:

  • innovative products

  • technology-based applications

  • technology-based services
