Lúnasa Space, headquartered in London, has built its reputation developing advanced technologies for autonomous navigation, rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO), critical capabilities for the next generation of in-orbit servicing, assembly and manufacturing missions.

Through the acquisition, Lúnasa’s engineering talent, intellectual property and testing infrastructure will strengthen Infinite Orbits’ Endurance satellite servicing vehicle, designed to extend the operational life of satellites in geostationary orbit.

The integration also brings Lúnasa’s UK assembly, integration and testing (AIT) facilities into the Infinite Orbits network, supporting closer collaboration with British industry, research institutions and government partners.

The announcement follows Lúnasa’s recent success in securing UK Space Agency Space Ecosystem Commercialisation Programme (SECP) funding, delivered via Space South Central, to advance its Cosmic Labs shared orbital platform for in‑orbit technology validation.

For Space South Central, the acquisition highlights the strength of the region’s space cluster and the global demand for technologies developed by companies based here.

Dr Louise Butt, Director of Space South Central, said: “This acquisition marks the latest example of companies from the Space South Central network attracting global investment and partnerships, as the UK continues to grow its capabilities in in-orbit servicing and sustainable space operations.

“As international companies look to collaborate with UK expertise, the success of companies like Lúnasa demonstrates the value of regional clusters in building globally competitive space businesses.”

Amin Chabi, CEO of Lúnasa, said: “Joining Infinite Orbits enables Lúnasa’s technologies and engineering capabilities to scale within an operational in-orbit servicing platform. Through our joint vision, we will accelerate the development of advanced rendezvous, proximity operations and satellite life-extension technologies and missions that are critical for the next generation of sustainable space operations.”

Paul Bate, Chief Executive at UK Space Agency, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Infinite Orbits to the UK space sector. Safe rendezvous and proximity operations are essential to our mission to make space more sustainable and unlock the full potential of in‑orbit servicing, assembly and manufacturing.

“This acquisition is a vote of confidence in British engineering talent and the great team at Lúnasa, and it strengthens the ecosystem we need to deliver new satellite life‑extension and servicing capabilities.
